We recently stayed at
the Hotel Val di Sogno and
absolutely loved it. The
hotel is set in an idyllic
location, beautiful views,
good food and good
facilities (swimming pool is
a decent size and not too
cold). The hotel is about a
25 minute walk into the
centre of Malcesine but
quite a pleasant stroll.
There is an hourly bus
service from the top of the
road into the centre,
although we never used it.
There is also quite a nice
walk into Cassone (about 15
minutes) - not much there -
apart from the shortest
river in the world ! - but a
quaint setting and quite
pretty in the evening.
We would thoroughly
recommend this hotel for its
quiet location and beautiful
views. |

Stayed 3 days in
September (one night on 1/2
board basis and 2 nights on
bed and breakfast basis).
In a word STUNNING location
right on the water. Evening
dinner was indeed excellent,
and breakfast more than
adequate. Friendly, helpful
staff, and impeccable rooms
with everything you'd expect
in a 5 star hotel (its
actually 4 star rated).
I would unreservedly
recommend a few days here...
Internet access is the only
downside. The hotel offers
Wi-Fi, but infortunately the
local infrastructure in
Malcesine is sub-standard
and internet access is
reminiscent of dial-up 10
years ago. Even my 3G card
would only do GPRS and at
snail speed! So no criticism
of the hotel - just the
Italian telecoms
infrastructure in that part
of Italy!
Otherewise the hotel is
eveything and more that the
pcitures in the web
indicate.
